“Points with Purpose” and Visit to the North Bay
October 20, 2017 – Klay Thompson launched his “Points With Purpose” campaign. During a three game homestand against the Raptors, Wizard and Pistons, Klay donated $1,000 for each point he scored. He also encouraged the public to pledge their own donations. The initiative raised a tremendous amount of money that went directly to the Redwood Credit Union’s North Bay Fire Relief Fund.
October 25, 2017 – Mychel Thompson and members of the Thompson Family Foundation staff visited the Redwood Credit Union corporate office in Santa Rosa, CA. There, they met with the credit union’s CEO, Brett Martinez, as well as members of the RCU staff who are directly working on the North Bay Fire Relief Fund. They spoke with fire victims and first responders, and visited some of the affected areas such as Cardinal Newman High School. Mychel and his colleagues had the opportunity to meet student athletes from Cardinal Newman and many of the volunteers at the Redwood Empire Food Bank.
